Good evening, vapers. (Or afternoon/morning, depending on when you’re reading this.) I hope you’ve had a fabulous day. I would like to share my Decadent Vapours It’s a Trifle eliquid review with you today if that’s okay? I’ve taken my time with this range of juices, and you’ll learn why as you read through this review, and the ones that are coming, too.
About Decadent Vapours
Who are Decadent Vapours? Well … when I went looking for more information, I was pleasantly surprised by what I found. I genuinely considered copying the entire list of stuff from their website, but I have instead decided to direct you to the ‘About‘ page of DecadentVapours.com. I didn’t know half of the stuff I found there, such as, the brand started in 2009 and was one of, if not the first, to do a whole bunch of stuff in the UK for eliquid/vaping. For example, the first company in the UK to offer savoury flavours, first to offer PG, VG or PEG 400 eliquid combinations, and the first company to make a flavour that registers at 500,000 on the Scoville heat scale.
What?! That’s not real … is it?
Like, what the actual f?
WHO IS VAPING THAT?
WHO EVEN WANTS TO VAPE THAT?!
This is the second ‘lot’ of Decadent Vapours eliquids I’ve received and reviewed, and you can find a few of the others here:
- Decadent Vapours Eliquid Review [Video] — Toffy, Purpello, Café Brasiliano, Crème Anglais & Froot Bomb
In this particular range (and it’s a really good range), you will also find the following flavours:
- Choccywoccymoo (I’ve talked about it enough, I know, I’m sorry!)
- Strawberry Bonbon
- Lemon Puff
The eliquids are all made in the UK, and are free from the bad shiz, like Acetyl Propionyl, Diacetyl, and DEG. You’ll find them in both 50/50 and high-VG and in various strengths (0mg, 3mg, 6mg). The high-VG stuff ends up being 60% VG and 40% PG when you add the nicotine shot and diluent.
My kit contained 1 x 10ml 100% VG Diluent + 1 x 1.8% 10ml Nicotine Boost (98.2% VG).
You *DO* get both the nic shot and diluent in the kit, so there’s no need to buy anything extra. At the moment, the 60ml eliquid kit is £14.95, regularly priced at £17.95 and you’ll find It’s a Trifle right HERE.
Decadent Vapours It’s a Trifle Eliquid Review
So, I’ll be doing the review in two parts. I vaped with It’s a Trifle right away, straight after I mixed it up, and then I left it on the shelf for a few weeks before giving it another shot. It was the second of the range I put together, after falling hopelessly in love with Choccywoccymoo. I’m trying to use that choco-delight sparingly because it’s one of my favourites and I like to use those as little treats.
Get that project done this week, Kim, and you can treat yourself to some of the good stuff at the weekend.
YAAAAASSSS! It’s Choccywoccymoo time!
I’m kidding, obviously, but that hot chocolate ejuice is definitely one that I can chain-puff the crap out of. For such a sweet eliquid, I’m surprised I don’t find it too sickly-sweet after a while. I just love it.
It’s a Trifle flavour description:
“Juicy peach slices is a raspberry and strawberry jelly, all topped with a dollop of custard, rich whipped cream, and sprinkles.”
I actually think trifle might be one of my all-time favourite childhood desserts. There’s only one more that beats it, but I’ve got a review of that flavour coming in the next few days so I’m not going to reveal my fave just yet … (You’ll just have to come right back and read more, won’t you? 😝)
Taste – Immediately After Mixing
If I’m being entirely honest with you, I didn’t love this eliquid flavour right away. I mixed it together and vaped it, not allowing for any steepage time, and it was so peachy that I was instantly reminded of the nights I’d gotten drunk on Archers or Peach Schnapps. They weren’t good memories. I’m pretty sure I threw up in someone’s fish pond once after a heavy night of drinking mostly Archers and I didn’t even know the people who lived in that house.
My teens … they were fun and crazy years. I haven’t been able to drink peachy-flavoured alcohol since that night. (I don’t drink at all now. Almost two years!)
Once I’d made that boozy-peachy connection (NOT Decadent Vapours’ fault), it was game over. I did two tankfuls of the stuff in my Smok Helmet tank and then put the bottle back on the shelf. Too peachy for me, and not enough of the trifle. I was there for the custard and whipped cream, perhaps the strawberries, but alcoholic peach was the last thing on the list I wanted in abundance. It made me a little sad. Trifle is one of my favourite childhood desserts after all. (If my mama could get to the ladyfingers before I ate them, dry.)
Taste – Six Weeks Later
You don’t *need* to leave the juices to steep, but I personally think this one tastes much better if you do. I pulled It’s a Trifle from Decadent Vapours back off the shelf just a few days ago, and I’m finding it much more palatable. (For me … Remember that flavour is subjective.)
That bold peach flavour has definitely toned down; it tastes so much more like an actual trifle now and less like a bad n’ boozy night out. I’ve been vaping with It’s a Trifle for two days now, And I no longer taste a boozy peach flavour, but a very decent trifle flavour. It’s moreish — not too sweet, and not to overpowered by any of the individual elements. I can’t taste the peach or the raspberries on their own, but more a blend of them both, with the custard-cream finishing things off nicely. I definitely think it’s a better flavour match now, after a few weeks of steeping than right at the beginning.
I’m starting to learn some very important lessons as far as eliquid and steeping is concerned. You *can* vape most eliquids immediately, like Choccywoccymoo, but others sure as hell taste nicer after you leave ‘em for a wee while.
Throat Hit & Vapour
The first time I gave It’s a Trifle a shot, I was also testing the Smok Helmet tank and one of the 0.4-ohm coils. The second time was in the Jac Vapour Series-S22 vape kit because JV sent me a second device after the first one spectacularly flunked.
I don’t think the Series-S22 kit provides the greatest amount of vapour production and throat hit if I’m honest. I find it a bit … limp. The Smok Helmet tank, on the other hand, delivered in true style, pumping out clouds after clouds with each hit. It is such a shame that the tank is so hit n’ miss all the time. It had the potential to be a really decent tank. Humph.
Coming back to It’s a Trifle by Decadent Vapours, the vapour production was very much dependant on which tank I used (obviously), but on the really good devices, was more than enough to keep me happy. (And, in turn, annoy Mister best-ecig by fogging up the living room.)
The throat hit was pretty much what would you would expect from 3mg eliquid. It wasn’t too scratchy or too smooth — somewhere in the middle. Just right.
Decadent Vapours It’s a Trifle Eliquid Review – Conclusion
Yep, I’m a big fan of this one, but only after a couple of weeks of steeping. That peachy-booze connection really put me off at the beginning. That has nothing to do with Decadent Vapours juice, of course. More poor decision making as a youngster …
If you really like the taste of Archers, I reckon you’ll love this one right off the bat, but if you’re on the hunt for some genuine trifle goodness, give it a couple of weeks after mixing for absolutely delightful results.
Would I buy Decadent Vapours It’s a Trifle eliquid again? Yes, I would re-buy this one when the bottle runs out. This is the second juice from the range I’ve tried and I actually can’t wait to try the next one. I might tell you about Lemon Puff next … what do you think?
