Review Overview

My Score

Summary : I’d used EC247 a couple of times, mostly because of their e-liquids. At £4 a bottle, it’s one of the cheaper e-liquids you can get your hands on. Recently I decided to give their e-cigarettes a shot and you can read all about it in the EC247 Starter Kit review.

EC247 Starter Kit – £36

I decided to go for the simple EC247 Starter Kit for £36 (down from £39.95) and for your money you’ll get yourself two 650mAh batteries, two cartomisers (or clearomisers as they call them), a USB charger, an EU charger, a UK adapter, a carry case and a key hanger. Essentially, you are getting two lots of what you’d normally get from anywhere else so when you think about it that way, it’s not quite as expensive as I first thought it might be.

The one thing that you don’t get with this kit is a bottle of e-liquid but if you sign up for their email newsletter (which you can later unsubscribe from) you will get a free bottle of King Tobacco liquid which is exactly what I decided to do.

There are other starter kits available:

EC247 Starter Kit (with 2 x e-liquids) for £42.00. You’ll get the same as the EC247 Starter Kit that I ordered but with two additional 10ml bottles of e-liquid.

Lovebird T Starter Kit for £29.95. This is the typical style of e-cigarette with the battery & filter design. You’ll get two batteries, two cartomisers, 5 empty refill cartridges, a USB charger and a wall charger.

There’s also the KingCig Starter Kit, the Clear X Starter Kit, and the disposables too. I’ll talk about these when I give them a shot!

Battery

You do get two 650mAh batteries with this kit and I would have expected it to last for around six hours or so. I generally get that much use out of other batteries with a similar capacity like the Vapouriz Fuse or the Kangertech EVOD. I was a bit disappointed with this kit, I’ll be honest. I think I got about four hours out of the full charge of the battery, and one of the batteries actually conked out on me after about two weeks of using it. I didn’t bother to get a replacement or order a new one because if I’m honest, I just think there are better (and cheaper) e-cigarettes out there.

I wouldn’t exactly say that these are a cheap build but they aren’t as well-put-together as others, and on one of the batteries I heard a rattle when I moved it around too much. I’m not sure if this was just a one-off faulty battery but it wasn’t the one that conked out after a couple of weeks so all in all, the brand just didn’t seem to be reliable enough for my liking.

If you did want to buy extra batteries, you can buy both 1100mAh or 1300mAh and these are priced at £14.85 and £11 respectively which seems to be the wrong way around…? That’s what they charge on the website though!

Cartomisers / Tanks

The clearomisers as EC247 calls them weren’t bad – pretty generic in the e-cig industry these days. They are 1.6ml capacity and transparent like most so you can see exactly how much liquid is left. You can’t buy spare coils for them on the site but you can buy new clearomisers for £5.95.

Throat Hit & Vapour

It wasn’t a bad smoke, I’ll give this e-cigarette that. It gave me plenty of vapour with all of the e-liquid brands I used in it, and I never experienced a bad taste or a nasty throat hit so I would say it does give you a relatively decent smoke. In that respect, I didn’t have any problems with them at all.

E-Liquid

The good news is that you can get a huge number of flavours and strengths of e-liquid on the website, and you can make your choice from the following flavours:

  • Menthol
  • Coffee
  • King Tobacco
  • Mojito
  • Pina Colada
  • Champagne Apple
  • Pineapple
  • Cherry
  • Coconut
  • Blueberry
  • USA Mix
  • Whiskey
  • Cappucino
  • Strawberry
  • Apple
  • Chocolate
  • Danish Tobacco
  • Iceland Tobacco
  • Norwegian Tobacco
  • Finnish Menthol
  • Swedish Tobacco
  • Peach
  • Original Tobacco
  • Bright Tobacco
  • Mint
  • Tobacco / Mint Mix
  • Watermelon
  • Blackberries
  • Banana
  • Liquorice
  • Vanilla
  • Energy
  • Cola

Not all strengths are available in all flavours, and it’s actually quite difficult to find one with the stronger strengths, but you can find 0mg, 12mg, 18mg and 24mg.

A 10ml bottle will see you back £4 (although as I’ve mentioned, if you sign up to their email program you can get a bottle of the King Tobacco for free) and but they also provide XL bottles of 50ml liquid which are £16 each. There are some premium liquids on there which are a bit more expensive but overall, I think the range of flavours, strengths and prices aren’t bad!

Delivery

If you complete your order before around 3pm, your delivery will be sent out the same day so you should get it the next day. This is great for anyone running seriously low on e-liquid and in desperate need of a vape-mail day!

You can get free delivery over £40 which is basically your starter kit plus a bottle of e-liquid, and they also ship internationally. The regular rates are pretty much in line with other e-cig brands and UK shipping is just £2.95 if you don’t quite make it to the £40 threshold.

Are EC247 Electronic Cigarettes The Best E-Cig?

I wouldn’t go as far as to say that these were the best e-cigarettes you could get your hands on, but EC247 deliver what they promise to deliver. They are lightweight and durable e-cigs that do everything you want them to do. The throat hit and vapour were plentiful although the liquids that come from the website itself aren’t all that great compared to others. Personally I felt they could do with having a tad more flavour to them.

When you add that to the fact that the batteries were a bit…. well, cheaply made really, and there was that weird rattle plus the one that broke really quickly. It’s just not an e-cig I would buy again, and when it competes with some of the other big names I’ve reviewed on the site already, it really doesn’t live up to standard.

I’d give the EC247 Starter Kit 2.5 stars out of 5! It does the job but it’s a bit unreliable for my liking, and I just feel there are better ones you could try.
