The world of e-cigs, e-cigarettes, or electronic cigarettes; whatever it is you want to call it, can seem overwhelming. There are so many different companies out there now, it’s hard to find the best e-cigarette. There are far too many designs to choose from now too. Two-piece, three-piece, tanks, disposables… Scary stuff huh?
Let’s make things easier. There’s four things you gotta know!
4. You will probably try a few brands before you find one you like.
When I first used e-cigarettes, I tried SkyCig. Then I used a Canadian brand that I found while I was travelling. At the time, they shipped to the UK too. I’ve also tried Socialities, Magnifecig, V2 Cigs, Njoy, Totally Wicked, and a whole bunch more. I’ve hated some, and loved others. Some I’ve been obsessed with for a couple months, and then fell out of love with just as quick. Some have broken. Some have been shockingly bad, and some haven’t been worth the hassle. What works for your friend won’t always work for you. Don’t give up hope if you don’t find the right one after your first attempt. Or your second. Or your sixth. It’s a trial and error process. Luckily, many of the biggest and best e-cig brands offer things like 30 day money back guarantees, which sure makes life a lot easier. Cheaper too!
3. They won’t last forever.
You will probably need to replace a battery or two along the way. Some of them may be faulty. Some of them will break. These are electronic gadgets, and they are still a relatively new concept, so every now and again, something will happen and you probably won’t be happy about it. Many of the best e-cig brands offer warranties on their e-cigarettes and batteries, so there’s always something that can be done. Batteries are relatively cheap to replace on most websites, but I’d always advise you to buy in bulk beforehand and be prepared. The last thing you’ll want is to be “real” cigarette-free for six months and start smoking them again because a battery died and the other one was on charge.
2. It’s not EXACTLY the same as a ‘regular’ cigarette…
…But it’s about as close as you’re gonna get. It’s a clever idea and it’s one that CAN and WILL work for you as long as you are willing to put in a bit of effort. Just think of the change to e-cigarettes as being the same as changing brands of cigarette. There’s a bit of an adjustment but you’ll soon get used to it. As smoking cessation products go, although they weren’t originally marketed as one, they sure work. I’m testament to that.
1. You’re gonna save a lot of money if you’re smart!
You’re spending a fortune on smoking real cigarettes. Yes, the best e-cig starter kit is gonna set you back but the rest of the stuff you need, things like batteries and cartridges, e-liquid, etc.; all of that stuff you can buy ‘along the way’ so once that initial starter kit expense is out the way, you’ll be laughing. A tenner every few weeks to buy a new bottle of e-liquid is sure cheaper than roughly a tenner a day spent on regular cigarettes. Just think about it. Think about the money you’ll save. The sooner you start, the sooner you could be laughing. And going on vacation or buying a new car.
Four things you needed to know – now you know them. Why not take a look at some of the reviews I’ve written about the worst and best e-cigs I’ve tried. They’re there to give you a hand after all!
