**EDIT: 21st Nov 2015 – Neo Cigs doesn’t appear to be in business any longer. Their customer services have been non-responsive and their website has now been shut down. Although I very much enjoyed vaping with Neo Cigs, their lack of communication prior to this happening has been incredibly unprofessional. There is no mention of the closure on any of their social media accounts and customers have been resorting to asking ecig review sites (such as myself) what’s going on! I have therefore been forced to reduce the rating of this review to just one star**
Quite in contrast to the recent OKCigs Review, I was very excited to give Neo Cig a shot. A few of my friends had mentioned they’d used them and found them very enjoyable to smoke, and you cant beat word of mouth when it comes to finding an e-cig that won’t break the bank, or be complete pants. Plus I’d read some really great reviews online and figured it was about time I gave them a shot.
I decided to go the whole hog and get myself the Neo Charge Bundle. Let’s take a peek at what I thought in the Neo Cig review…
Neo Charge Bundle – £34.99
First of all, it’s not going to cost you £34.99 because with my 20% exclusive Neo Cig discount code, you’ll get it for just £28.
Secondly, you get a whole bunch more in this kit than you do with most of the other cigalike brands for the same kind of price.
You get the Neo Charge Case which is a portable charging case, letting you pump up your battery’s juice level whenever you need to, no matter where you are. It’s quite impressive too! Just take a peek at what Neo Cig said about it:
Neo Charge is a tactile rubber-coated charging case, with a powerful lithium battery that will last more than 1,000 charges without loss of performance. The Neo Charge is capable of charging up to 4 Neo E-Cigarette batteries before needing to be recharged.
You’ll also get TWO rechargeable batteries – most kits (just like the OKCigs one) gives you just the one battery.
You’ll also get five cartridge refills – two of them are Neo Cool Mint flavoured, and the other three are Neo Tobacco flavour.
PLUS you’ll get another five-pack of cartridge refills (1.8% / 18mg), making your choice from either Cool Mint or Tobacco, and you can pick from a UK or EU wall plug… Just in case you’re buying from somewhere outside of Britain.
That’s an awful lot of stuff for just £28 you know. Plus, it’s all really good quality stuff – the Neo Cig stuff looks like it should be a truck load more expensive than it actually is. When you consider how much the likes of V2 Cigs charge for their Vapour Couture line, you’ll appreciate just what you’re getting for the price of these.
Just to clarify, the two batteries, ten cartridges – that’ll probably last you about a week or even more. Plus after that, you’ll either need to buy new cartridges or just e-liquid (and refill your own although this voids your warranty, just so you know) and e-liquid is cheap as chips these days. No look at how much you would be spending if you were smoking regular cigarettes. At about £7-£8 per day on a packet of 20 smokes, you’re spending about £56 per week on them. That’s not including all the detergent and fabric softener you need to buy, air freshener, perfume (all to get rid of that stench) and ashtrays, lighters, days off sick due to smoking-related conditions…. Smoking is expensive and let’s face it, it’s an expense we could all do without.
The Neo Cig starter kit is ideal for those looking to quit smoking using e-cigarettes. It’s not too cigarette-looking to make you feel self-conscious while you are out and about, and at the same time, it’s discreet enough and slim enough to keep things on the down-low. Plus it’s actually not that expensive.
I reckon we might be on to a winner here.
So with my kit, I got two menthol cartridges, three tobacco ones, five watermelon ones, and five grape ones.
I tried the menthol cartridges, and the tobacco cartridges and I’ll be honest, they aren’t all bad. There is a bit of a weird taste to the tobacco one but not enough to make it unpleasant, more unique. It was a very enjoyable smoke however, and the menthol ones had just the right hit too. It wasn’t too ‘icy’ but not too ‘sweet’ either – just the right mix to actually taste like a genuine menthol cigarette. Not regularly a fan of the menthol, I actually smoked both of these cartridges.
The watermelon wasn’t bad either to be fair – a bit watered-down perhaps but overall it tasted as it should, and the grape one was really flavoursome and I actually very much enjoyed that. I don’t like to vape with the fruity flavours very often but every now and again, I like to give myself a quick switch-up to keep things interesting.
The cartridges are either nicotine, or nicotine-free, and the ones with nicotine are 1.8% or 18mg, which is about right for a regular smoker. I’d normally suggest either 1.8% or 2.4%, but you can find out more information by giving the following post a read:
To buy replacement cartridges for your Neo Cig Charge, you’ll be paying £8.99 for three. This does sound quite expensive but once you get the hang of refilling them yourself, you’ll save a small fortune. For more information and advice on that, check this out:
Oh and don’t forget, you’ll even get 20% off the refill cartridges so make sure you stock up and get your entries in to win that amazing Apple watch!
Throat Hit & Vapour
Again, it’s another positive mark in this Neo Cig review – there was just enough throat hit to make it feel as if you are actually smoking something but not too much that it makes you cough or splutter a little when you use it, and the vapour it produces is actually quite impressive from something so slimline and small.
If you take small, shallow puffs from the Neo Cig, you get a small amount of vapour, but if you take deeper, longer inhales, you can encourage the e-cig to produce more vapour so really, it’s an all-round winner. I actually found myself using this at work over the JacVapour 510 Twist I normally use, mostly for how easy it is for this one to fit in my pocket. Plus I can fit it in my hand so it’s easily hidden… Perfect for retail-based environments where stolen nicotine puffs are essential to get through a dumbass-customer-filled day! 😉
This battery is tiny and it’s hard to believe exactly how much power you’ll get out of it. It doesn’t state on the website what mAh the capacity is, but I got about four hours of use out of it and that, I felt was very impressive. I pretty much chain-smoked one battery from 8pm when I ripped it all open, until about 12/1 in the morning before it finally gave up and started flashing at me. For a cigalike, that’s some pretty impressive battery life. Possibly the best I’ve come across so far, in fact.
The end of the battery glows with what looks like a big blue ‘e’ which is great because when you have an orange-glowing tip, it looks like you’re smoking a cigarette and people are going to get annoyed at you.
Just as a final note, the cartridge and battery screw together well – this is something I have often found a problem with other cigalikes – occasionally things won’t screw together easily and the thread often gets destroyed or clogged up with gunk and then things don’t work as they should. I didn’t have this problem with he Neo Cig Charge at all.
One of the greatest features about the Neo Cig Charge starter kit is the portable charging case you get with it, something I believe is essential when you get yourself these smaller, cigalike e-cigs. The larger, tank-style batteries are more likely to last throughout the day so you won’t need to worry about having a charger, USB port, or spare plug socket around to juice your battery up with.
I’ve used a few brands with portable charging cases over the years. There was the V2 Cigs one that wasn’t bad, but was a bit bulky and awkward for my liking. There was also the Eversmoke one that I got from the US once that was again, just too klutzy and bulky for me. The Neo Cig Charge case is perfect – it’s sleek, discreet, slimline and everything fits just as you hoped it would. You can get a full sized e-cig in there, plus a battery charging, and three cartridge refills too. It’s basically like carrying around a cigarette packet, but thinner.
One of the best things about this charging case is the fact that you don’t need to screw the battery into the hole in order to charge it. You simply drop the battery in and close the lid – the lids pushes the battery downed the whole time it’s closed, the blue lights at the bottom will indicate the battery is charging. There are three lights to show you the levels of power the charging case itself has, plus three blue lights to show you how far the e-cig battery is to being charged. You have complete control – you know when everything is fully charged, how much charge is left, and when you need to start charging again. There’s something quite reassuring about that.
Customer Services & Extras
I haven’t had to speak to their customer services department as yet because nothing has gone wrong. The order was placed on their website, it arrived the very next day in the FUNKIEST looking Jiffy bag I’ve ever seen in my life (it’s the little things that make the world of difference in an industry as competitive as this one), and I’ve been happily using it for a few days now. Nothing has gone wrong, nothing has broken, nothing has become faulty…
Could the Neo Cig Charge e-cigarette be too good to be true?
Oh and just in case you needed any more persuading, keep all of your email order confirmations because there’s a year’s warranty on all Neo Cig products but you will need to have the original order number in order to call up and claim your replacement.
Plus, there’s this little beauty I’d like to share with you…

That’s good to know, right? I felt that was important stuff to share with you. I like to know that I’m using only the very best e-liquid and e-cigarettes when I vape, and I’ve come across some really shocking brands along the way – just read some of the poorest reviews if you don’t believe me.
Are Neo Cig’s The Best?
Actually, as cigalikes go, YES! There were very few things I could say I didn’t like about these e-cigarettes and I’m usually a tank-style vaper. They are good quality, feel great, don’t fall apart, don’t feel cheap, don’t look cheap… What they are is sophisticated, classy, simple and innovative – the charging case is the thinnest and most discreet, and the e-cigs that go with it are great to smoke.
The price isn’t bad at all in my opinion, especially when you consider what you’re getting in that starter kit. It’s jam packed full of stuff. Plus you can save even more with my 20% off EXCLUSIVE Neo Cig discount code: BESTECIG20.
A 5/5 rated cigalike I’d say! Basically the perfect review!
