This is one of the questions I am asked most often – How To Refill Your ECigarette Cartridges.
It’s not tough once you know how but the first time you do it, you’ll probably screw it up because you’re worried about damaging your new toy! Don’t worry – we’ve all been there. I’ve definitely broken a cartridge or two. I’ve poured liquid directly into the atomiser (don’t do this), and even overfilled the filler material.
This is why I’ve written this guide…
How To Refill Your ECigarette Cartridges
We’ll take it slow – go grab your e-cigarette!
Right, now unscrew the battery from the cartridge. I tend to grab like ten or fifteen of the cartridges and refill them all at the same time, use them all, then start all over again. Refilling them one by one is fussy, a pain in the ass, and you’re going to make one hell of a mess. Trust me.
Anyway, once you’ve got all your cartridges together, get a fork or hair grip and use it to poke right in the middle of the cartridge’s white plastic stopper-top. It’s not always white. It’s not always easy to get off either. You need to poke inside the hole and then manoeuvre it out, usually in a diagonal angle.
Once the stopper has come off, you might want to take a quick check inside the chamber. Sometimes the better e-cig brands put a silicone or plastic ring between the lid and the internal filler material to keep in the flavour and help to double check against leakages. E-cig liquid in the mouth is not nice.
When you do take a peek inside the e-cig cartridge, you’ll notice a thin post going through the centre of it. Never put e-liquid into that centre tube because that leads right down into the atomiser and the connection to the battery. When you put liquid in there, you run the risk of flooding the battery, and also burning out the atomiser itself. That essentially means your ecig will be worthless to you so I’d probably recommend avoiding that. Most important tip you’ll learn in the guide – How To Refill Your ECigarette Cartridges.
You won’t need much to refill these cartridges. I normally find that about 10-15 drops will do it. Here’s a good method to use:
*Line up your cartridges with the white stoppers removed.
*One by one, place 10 drops of e-liquid slowly into each one.
*When you’ve gotten to the last one, go back to the first one and start again but this time, only dropping maybe one or two drops in at a time. By doing this, by the time you get to the last one, the first one should have soaked enough liquid into the filler material for you to get a good idea of whether it needs more.
You need to stop adding more liquid when the filler material is looking close to saturated. If you go too far, it will spill out the bottom and you run the risk of ruining the atomiser. You’ll also find yourself getting e-liquid in your mouth.
Once you’re done refilling, pop the plastic stoppers back into the top and ensure that they are properly clicked into place. You should ideally look at leaving your cartridges for around ten to fifteen minutes before you start to use them, just to give them enough time to settle and to prevent any leakages or nasty-mouth-surprised.
