The original V2 Cigs PRO Series 3 review (Vapour2 Pro Series 3) was published in December 2014. A lot of the information, including starter kit contents + prices, was out-of-date. This information was updated in September 2018, along with a few additional thoughts.

V2 Cigs Pro Series 3 – £53.99
You can get the Vapour2 PRO Series 3 kit for £53.99 (down from £68.00), available in stainless steel, blue, and black. You can also pick from an EU or UK adaptor. The kit gives you the device itself, with a magnetic eliquid cartridge (disposable, you can’t change the coils), and the USB charging lead.
I got the blue one and to be honest, I wished I hadn’t. It doesn’t look like a regular e-cigarette, and the ‘blue-ness’ of it really made it stand out. It’s hardly small, too, so be prepared for some questions if you want to use this one out and about in public.
You don’t get any e-liquid with this kit so if you don’t already have some at home, you’ll need to buy it separately, something I’ll get into shortly.
Now, this is more expensive than other brands out there. You can buy e-cigarettes like the No1Ejuice EVOD Twin Kit for £12 (as one example) but V2 Cigs is a brand that is well known both sides of the Atlantic. In the States, this brand has been about for many years and has received nothing but rave reviews and in fact, it was in the States about four years ago that I first tried V2 Cigs for the first time.
This is a slightly different design of e-cigarette and personal vaporiser than you’re probably used to. There’s no screwing in of a cartridge or cartomiser here – it’s all controlled by magnets.
The battery is at the bottom of the long, tubular unit but at the top, there is a hollow space where the cartomiser sits. When you slide the tank in, you can feel and hear the click of the magnet. When you try to remove it again, you’ll find you need to tug on it with a bit of force. This does make life easier. There have been times where I’ve sat on an e-cigarette in my back pocket and the whole thing has snapped in half, making both the battery and the cartridge/tank unusable again. With this solidly built unit, you don’t have that worry. The magnets are pretty strong too – the cartomiser has never fallen out without me physically pulling it out. For the design alone, it deserves five stars.
That’s not al the vape pen does, either. The special magnets inside the unit actually know which cartomiser has been placed inside – whether it’s the loose leaf, e-liquid, or essential oil tank. The way that it works with the loose leaf one is slightly different. The lights flash from red to green to let you know when it has heated up enough to inhale on it. Smart, right?
(Plus confusing… It took me a while to figure it all out, I’ll be honest. Make sure you read the instructions!)
However…. I didn’t like the way that the PRO Series 3 looked. To me, it was too much like a big colouring crayon. If it had been in black or stainless steel, it might not have been such a bit deal, but because it was bright blue, people were constantly asking what I had in my mouth. In the end, I didn’t use it for long before it was passed along to Dan. Even though it’s quite a masculine, large design, he didn’t like it much, either. It’s a good e-cigarette and a great build, too, but appearance-wise, it wasn’t for me. Maybe I’m just too fussy? I tend to use it at home a lot, but I rarely take it out with me. It’s just too bulky for that.
Cartomiser / Tank
This is where things get interesting. There are a couple of different cartomiser/tank types you can choose from. The first one is what you would normally expect – you put e-liquid in there. There are two more, however; one for loose leaf tobacco, and one for essential oils or wax.
Now, I’m not entirely sure how I feel about essential oils. To be more specific, inhaling them. I haven’t gotten around to ordering that tank yet. A friend of mine wanted to give the loose leaf tobacco a shot as he smokes a pipe (to look cool) from time to time. He quite liked it but said it wasn’t something he’d use regularly. Just so you know.
If you wanted to buy a replacement eliquid cartomiser/tank for the V2 Cigs Series 3 Pro, you can do so for £10.99 (1.0-ohm, mouth-to-lung). [You’ll find it here.] Alternatively, you can buy a pack of 3 for £24.99 here.
The PRO Series 3 Dry Herb Cartridge is £17.25 and you’ll find it here.
There’s also the PRO Series 3 Wax cartridge, for £21.49, found here.
Throat Hit & Vapour
I’ll be honest, this beast produced a lot of vapour and the first few times I used it, it made me cough. If you’re not used to a lot of vapour from your e-cigarette, it might be worth pulling shallower inhales on this the first few times you use it.
Throat hit, although mainly dependent on the e-liquid you’re using, was enough for me. Once you’ve gotten around the amount of vapour that fills your mouth, you’ll actually find this to be a very enjoyable vape.
I’d probably recommend this to someone that is looking for something a little heavy duty, perhaps medium to heavy smokers. If you smoke fewer than 20 cigarettes per day, it’s not going to be worth it for you. If you smoke more than that, or like a heavier-than-average strength cigarette, I’d say give it a shot!
*One thing you might need to know – the V2 Cigs Pro Series 3 cartomiser DID NOT like the Vapouriz e-liquid. It was almost as if it kept clogging it up and getting too think and gunky. This is the only e-liquid I seem to have had a problem with so far, but I feel it is important you know this.*
I really like the V2 Cigs range of e-liquids and I although pricier than some of the other brands I’ve tried, are definitely worth a try if you’re looking for something good quality.
The only way you can get 10ml bottles of V2 Cigs e-liquid is by buying the liquid sample pack. For £24.95, you’ll get 5 x 10ml bottle of e-liquid and you can choose between tobacco or fruity, and from 1.2% and 1.8% strengths.
The ‘Platinum’ e-liquids can be purchased individually in 25ml and 50ml bottles, costing £13.25 and £24.87 respectively. They are a bit pricier than other brands but remember you are getting bigger bottles, and these really are great quality e-liquids. I will bring you the review of the individual flavours I’ve tried soon! Keep your eyes peeled!
There are only twelve different flavours available in the e-liquid range, and they include:
- V2 Red Tobacco
- Congress Tobacco
- Sahara Tobacco
- Green Tea
V2 Cigs Pro Series 3 Review – Conclusion
Right, this is a tough one. It’s a good quality e-cigarette that does the job, and it does do it very well. However, the appearance of the V2 Cigs Pro Series 3 for me was a bit of a put-off. I didn’t like how simple and plain it looked, or how big. It might work for some people but for me, it just didn’t look right.
It does produce vast plumes of vapour if that’s what you’re looking for, so discreet isn’t a word you can use to describe this one, and it does vape really well. All in all, if it looked a bit better I’m sure I’d rate it with a higher score, but I’m going to give it 4.5 stars out of 5. I really couldn’t get along with the shape or appearance of it.
Great for someone looking for a seriously heavy smoke! Not for the light-hearted!
