I am currently surrounded by so many bottles of eliquid and vape devices right now, it seems to be taking me an age to get them all done. I’m sorry. Bad blogger. Bad, bad blogger. In order to make up for it, I’m bringing to you a brand new review today — the Vape Dodo Smooth Forbidden Peach eliquid review.
About Vape Dodo
I met the guys at Vape Dodo at the London Vape Show, but about a week before that, I received a nice little package of their eliquids for review. Containing four (of five) flavours that were available at the time, I was actually really excited to get stuck into them. The packaging was lovely. Very arty. I loved the traveller theme, especially with the straw in the box. Can’t straw cause allergies though? Just a thought …
It was actually the London Vape Show that Vape Dodo became an award-winning eliquid range. As well as ‘Best Packaging,’ they also won ‘Best Booth’.
There are now four flavours on offer:
- Smooth Forbidden Peach
- Raspberry Moonshine
- Cast-Away Coconut
- Alpine Berry
- Wild Tobacco
I received all of them except for Wild Tobacco.
A few more details:
- 80/20 VG/PG
- 0, 3, and 6 mg
- £4.99 / 10 ml
Vape Dodo Smooth Forbidden Peach Eliquid Review
I was really shocked when I looked at the ingredients listed on the box of the bottle … I pay attention to what I’m vaping with. Or, I like to think I do. When I review something, I want to really review something so I try to pay attention to the little details. I wasn’t really prepared for those little details, however, and I found myself furiously Googling to find out answers. I probably shouldn’t have done that. You know what Google is like … Always telling you the bad stuff first.
- Ethyl vanillin
- Raspberry ketone
- Lactic acid
Whaaaaaaat? I mean, I did research some of the ingredients and the stuff I found wasn’t great. Every single ingredient I Googled, that I hadn’t come across before listed on the side of an eliquid bottle, seemed to be not-good for the human body. I know we’re talking about very small amounts in the eliquid, but still.
I did ask someone who makes eliquid whether or not these ingredients were normal, and he said yes. Ish. There are different ingredients that you could better use instead of those ones, but they are mostly typical of what you would find.
Blimey. I know bugger-all about the eliquid I’m vaping with, clearly. That’s a disturbing thought, isn’t it? I mean, one of the ingredients (although I can’t remember which now) said that it wasn’t suitable for lactose intolerant people. I’m lactose intolerant. It didn’t say that the eliquid wasn’t suitable for lactose intolerant people on the bottle. Maybe the amount wasn’t high enough to register? Who knows. I do know, however, that I find myself looking at the ingredients on the website, as well as the bottle, a little more closely these days.
Anyway, moving on …
Right, let’s pretend that I didn’t freak out about the ingredients for a moment. The taste of this eliquid is actually really impressive. It tastes like a peachy-flavoured yoghurt, the powdery-peach on the inhale, a tart and tangy yoghurt acidity brought to the exhale. I was informed by someone on Twitter that the lactic acid would be used to bring that yoghurt-acid-effect into the eliquid. He didn’t know which eliquid I was vaping with at the time, just that it said lactic acid in the ingredients, so his guess was spot-on!
Vape Dodo’s Smooth Forbidden Peach has a really good and true-to-taste flavour about it, almost like you’re eating a lumpy peach yoghurt. Sadly, I didn’t get to enjoy the liquid for long. I wasted almost the entire bottle trying to get the Aspire Cleito EXO tank to work. I did get about a tank and a half out of it though, and I was a little sad when it ended.
Throat Hit & Vapour Production
I felt the vapour was pretty impressive, and the throat hit was what you would expect from a 3 mg, high-VG liquid. I used mine with the Aspire Cleito EXO tank, with 0.4-ohm coils, on the Wismec Predator 228. It’s not a bad combo. Not the best, but decent enough. I also think the Aspire Cleito EXO is a great tank for flavour, matching this juice nicely. It’s got a flavour that you will want to make the most of, I think.
Vape Dodo Smooth Forbidden Peach Eliquid Review — Conclusion
I’m going to be honest, the list of eliquid ingredients really freaked me out a bit. I think it’s great that the brand has decided to go the honest and transparent way, listing everything contained within their products. At the same time though, shouldn’t *all* brands reveal as much? I know if the ingredients are below a certain amount, the manufacturer doesn’t have to list them, but I feel that they should at least be available to look up on the website. This isn’t the case for many eliquids that I’ve tried and reviewed recently. I’ve gone looking for the information and, if it’s out there, I don’t think it’s that easy to find.
Would I buy Vape Dodo Smooth Forbidden Peach again? For the taste, yes. I really think this does taste like a creamy yoghurt with sweet peaches, which exactly what the brand were going for. I’m just not sure how I feel about seeing those ingredients, you know? I know they’re probably in many of the eliquids I vape with every day but seeing them on the side of the bottle … Well, I had to question why I would find ‘lactic acid’ in eliquid, in the first place.
Would I recommend Vape Dodo Smooth Forbidden Peach to you? If you’re on the hunt for a great-tasting peach yoghurt eliquid, yes, but I think it would be wise for us all to pay a little more attention to the juices we’re dripping into our tanks. That’s all I’m saying.
How About You?
Please shout out if you’ve come across another eliquid with lactic acid in the ingredients. I want to find out how common it is. This is the ONLY eliquid that I’ve seen containing it and I’ve been vaping for a long time. How much do I really know about what I’m vaping with?
